On the Air in Israel

If you're visiting from a country that has implemented the CEPT T/R 61-01 agreement, you do not have to apply for a reciprocal license. You can bring your own equipment, and operate in Israel for a period of up to 3 months, providing that you have your valid "home country" license with you. Important: you should identify as  4X/ and your home call

 

CEPT members include the following countries

Albania, Andorra, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Republic of North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, Ukraine, United Kingdom and Vatican

 

Additionally, these non-European countries are signatories to CEPT T/R 61-01

Israel is in IARU Region 1. Frequency and power limits are different from Regions 2 & 3, particularly for 80, 40 and 6 meters. Please check the frequency table below before operating

CEPT T/R 61-02 applies to stays over 3 months. Please contact radioamat@moc.gov.il for advice well in advance of your visit

 

Making Aliya

If you are making aliya to Israel, ham radio may not be the first thing on your mind! But it's worth knowing that olim often qualify for an Israeli license equivalent to the grade of the foreign callsign. Please contact the Ministry of Communication at radioamat@moc.gov.il for details
